The Civil Service Board is a five (5) member board. The members consist of two (2) who are appointed by the Sheriff, two (2) who are elected by the Classified Service employees of the Sheriff’s Office, and one (1) who is chosen by the members of the Civil Service Board.
What does the Board do?
Pursuant to Chapter 70-942, Laws of Florida, amended and restated under Chapter 97-376, (hereinafter referred to as the Act), the Civil Service Board may promulgate, adopt, and amend rules and regulations it deems necessary for the efficient and effective administration of the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office Civil Service Act. The Board is created under the act to provide certain regulatory, personnel and administrative functions for the Sheriff’s Office Classified Service personnel.
